A useful place to start.

Help for your Mac.

MacVive is a preparation and troubleshooting companion. It does not install macOS, apply patches or provide a universal repair.

The free beta is coming soon. There is no public app download yet. This page is available for questions about the project and future beta support.

When you have the app

  1. Overview: confirm the actual Mac model, installed macOS and selected target. If the reported identity may be spoofed, treat it as unverified.
  2. Preparation: review backup, essential apps and recovery before making changes. Checked boxes do not change compatibility.
  3. Troubleshooting: choose the symptom you see and begin with the read-only checks. Keep the exact OS build, GPU and patcher version in mind.
  4. Save the plan: open the exported HTML on another device before restarting. External references still need internet.

Start with the original instructions

Apple’s macOS download and installation guidance covers Apple-supported routes. For unsupported installations, consult Dortania’s OpenCore Legacy Patcher documentation and its exact release requirements.

MacVive is independent of both organizations. A patcher model listing does not guarantee that a particular macOS build, GPU or hardware configuration will work.

If your Mac cannot start or your files are not recoverably backed up, avoid guessing at disk formatting, EFI changes or patch commands. Preserve your recovery options and gather the exact model, version and symptoms first.
